The McGain’s café opened at the end of 2012 to immediate praise. Set amongst a myriad of plant life the café occupies a conservatory like space and extends out under a vine-covered pergola. The combination of fixed glass, rollup clear blinds and sliding doors keep the wind out of the outdoor eating area. The plant life provides a unique setting.
The café has built a reputation for having the freshest and finest meals. Our wonderful kitchen staff have access to our food store next door packed with the freshest of produce. However, simply having the ingredients does not guarantee success. Our highly talented staff create masterpieces with every dish. Freshly created meals are also available to take home. All our plates are garnished with edible flowers and herbs from the nursery gardens.
McGains coffee is roasted by Coffee Cartel in Geelong. www.coffeecartel.com.au Coffee Cartel has recently won the best roaster in the Australian coffee awards. Our barristers are highly trained professionals and operate a Lamarzocco coffee machine. We use locally produced Shulz organic milk judged best milk in Australia by the dairy industry association of Australia 2012. The end result is a remarkable coffee. McGains also serve a selection of specialty teas. Our coffee and teas can be purchased to take home.
The café is wheelchair friendly with ramps to access both the café and disabled toilet. An area is set aside for young children with books and puzzles. The nursery has a fishpond and vegetable garden to walk around and explore.
The end result is a tranquil and harmonious setting for people of all ages.
